The only place that works for that shape where pieces don't overlap are starting with the blank in the middle of the top row. Then, looking at the second clue, it can't fit with the bear in the second row because the cat/rice and cat/egg cannot be in the same place. So you would start with the largest clue. (This is probably too easy an example, but I'm making it up in my head.)
